Valentine’s Day Charcuterie Board

Growing up in the era of Lunchables, I’ve grown very partial to making charcuterie boards for holidays or just for snacking! My kids live off snacks and prefer it to actual meals so when I make a board, they are all about it! I thought it would be fun to put together a Valentine’s Day board for couples staying in this year or for some fun snacking inspiration for your kiddos!

Some of my favorite things to put on the board are a few different assortments of  meats and cheeses, some of our favorite fruits, and some fun sweet treats! My heart shaped cutting board is from HomeGoods!

Everything I got for this board is from Trader Joe’s, with the exception of the macaroons and marshmallows which were from HomeGoods as well!  You can buy all of this at your local grocery store if you don’t have a Trader Joe’s near you!
(Substituting a few of the treats)

This board consists of:

  • Brie
  • Monterey Jack Cheese Sticks
  • Marinated Mozzarella Balls
  • Salami
  • Strawberries
  • Raspberries
  • Apples
  • Pomegranate Seeds
  • Yogurt Covered Pretzels
  • Savory Thin Crackers
  • 3 Seed Beet Crackers
  • Macaroons
  • Marshmallows
  • Strawberry Licorice Twists
  • Peanut Butter Cocoa Marshmallows

The salami rose is a fun way to get the Valentine’s Day vibe on your board, and it’s super easy! All you need is a drinking glass. You put the salami on the rim all the way around and continue to overlap each previous piece until you’re out of salami. Then just flip the glass over and you have a beautiful rose! I have the how-to saved in my Instagram highlights here.
I decided to make the strawberries more festive as well by cutting the stems out in the shape of a heart! I did the same thing for the brie and then just put the pomegranate seeds on top of that! I had every intention of using my heart shaped cookie cutter to cut out shapes with the sharp cheddar cheese slices I had; however, my cheese slices were too small for the size cutter, so I improvised and cut out the apples instead!

Once you get all your goodies together, here comes the fun part! You get to start throwing things on the board! It doesn’t matter how you do it, as long as every space of the board is covered. I like to fill in the empty spots with extra crackers!

I hope this gave you some fun inspiration for your special Valentine or for your kiddos!
XOXO,
Trina
